If the Baltimore Ravens can find a way to get past all the other stuff — the seemingly constant stream of off-field distractions — then there might be an incredible deal to be had with veteran free agent wide receiver Stefon Diggs.

Bleacher Report’s Kristopher Knox singled out the Ravens as the “Perfect Landing Spot” for Diggs, coming off a 1,000-yard season in which he helped lead the New England Patriots to the Super Bowl but was unceremoniously dumped to save $16.8 million in salary cap space and just 1 year into a 3-year, $63.5 million contract.

“The Baltimore Ravens missed the playoffs in 2025, but they’re widely expected to be back in the mix this season under new head coach Jesse Minter,” Knox wrote. “Signing Diggs could be the perfect win-now move. Quarterback Lamar Jackson would benefit from an improved receiving corps. Diggs would be a great addition alongside Zay Flowers and Rashod Bateman. Baltimore tried using veteran DeAndre Hopkins in the third-receiver role last season, but he finished with just 330 yards and two touchdowns. Diggs could be the dependable go-to target for Jackson that Hopkins never became.”

Wherever Diggs ends up, it’ll be his 4th team in 4 seasons after spending 2023 with the Buffalo Bills and 2024 with the Houston Texans.

One thing that might draw Diggs to the Ravens — along with his love for 2-time NFL MVP quarterback Lamar Jackson — is that it would represent a homecoming of sorts.

The Ravens also need a legit WR2 option to Zay Flowers to complete their offense, where they already have an elite tight end in Mark Andrews and 1 of the NFL’s greatest running backs of all time in Derrick Henry.

“As a possession receiver, Diggs can complement Flowers, whose speed opens up the field for other wideouts on short-to-intermediate routes,” Bleacher Report’s Moe Moton wrote. “Still a reliable pass-catching threat, he can feast on receptions over the middle and in the seams. Furthermore, with the Ravens set to install a new offense under first-time play-caller Declan Doyle, Lamar Jackson needs another safety valve in the passing attack, other than tight end Mark Andrews. Diggs grew up in Gaithersburg, Maryland, and played for the Terrapins in college. So, this could be a full-circle homecoming for him in the twilight of his career.”

Myriad Legal Issues on Horizon for Stefon Diggs

Diggs hasn’t been the greatest teammate over the years — his beef with Bills quarterback Josh Allen was uncomfortable for everyone — but the bigger problem has been off-field issues.

Before the 2025 season, Diggs grabbed headlines and caused headaches for the Patriots and head coach Mike Vrabel after a video went viral that showed him holding what appeared to be pink cocaine — also known as Tusi — during a party on a boat.

On December 22, Diggs was arrested for assault and battery after he was accused of strangling his personal chef earlier that month, after she asked to be paid for her work.

Diggs has entered a plea of not guilty and denied all allegations. He was scheduled to return to court on April 1.

For the Ravens and many other teams, Diggs will be worth the risk — in the last 8 years, he has 7 seasons with at least 1,000 receiving yards, including in 2025.
