Resurfaced video shows 49ers star Nick Bosa making hilarious traffic stop mistake

San Francisco 49ers defensive end Nick Bosa is the kind of player who makes quarterbacks lose sleep, but a resurfaced traffic stop video circulating widely this week shows a very different side of him.

The clip captures him getting pulled over by police in Broward County, Florida, after failing to yield to another vehicle. When the officer requests his registration, Bosa rummages through his documents and comes up with his insurance card instead.

The footage was originally posted by Real World Police on YouTube in March 2023 and resurfaced this week to a completely new audience.

During the stop, Bosa told the officer upfront that his license had expired and that he planned to get it renewed.

The honesty did not spare him from consequences. The officer issued two citations: one for the traffic violation and another for the expired license. No arrest was made.

The moment landed across social media with the kind of reaction only a recognizable star can generate. The video was reshared this week by MLFootball on X.

Beyond the document confusion, commenters were also struck by Bosa’s notably spacey demeanor throughout the exchange.

The clip spread fast, largely because of how unexpected the energy is coming from someone who plays the game with such deliberate aggression every Sunday.

Bosa signed a five-year, $175 million contract extension with San Francisco in 2023, making him the highest-paid defensive player in the NFL at the time.

The bigger story around Bosa this offseason is his health. He tore the ACL in his right knee during Week 3 of the 2025 season, ending what had been a promising start.

San Francisco finished 2025 with just 20 sacks as a team, the lowest total in the NFL. Losing their best pass rusher in September was the central reason.

At the NFL league meetings in Phoenix on March 29, 49ers GM John Lynch gave reporters an encouraging update on both Bosa and fellow edge rusher Mykel Williams.

“They should be ready for training camp, maybe on a scale, ramped-type situation,” Lynch said.

Lynch also confirmed the organization is adding physical therapy staff this offseason, a direct response to the injury volume the team absorbed in 2025.

San Francisco opens the 2026 season in Melbourne, Australia against the Los Angeles Rams on September 10. Having Bosa ready, or close to it, matters enormously for how that defense looks out of the gate.
