Throughout the international break, all the talk has been about Enzo Fernández and Real Madrid. But John Obi Mikel thinks another Chelsea player would jump at the chance to join the Spanish giants.
Fernandez has been flirting with Madrid ever since going on international duty, following his comments made after the defeat to PSG. He’d like to live in Madrid, his favourite player is Toni Kroos, and more.
Reports say that Fernandez dreams of becoming a Madrid legend. Unfortunately for the Argentina star, Fernandez finds himself tied down to a contract at Chelsea until 2032. Madrid won’t pay £100m for him.

But according to former Chelsea midfielder John Obi Mikel, another Blues mainstay would entertain a move to Madrid this summer. He believes Moises Caicedo would love to join the Spanish giants.
John Obi Mikel predicts Moises Caicedo move to Madrid
While Fernandez was flirting with Madrid for the entirety of the international break, Caicedo shut down rumours immediately. One thing is clear, and that is Madrid want to sign a midfielder in the summer.
That question was posed to Caicedo at the start of the break, asked if he would be tempted with a move to the Spanish giants. Caicedo instantly replied by saying he is a Chelsea player and wants to stay put.

Well, Mikel doesn’t buy it. Speaking on his Obi One podcast, Mikel reckons Caicedo would join Madrid if the Ecuadorian was given the opportunity, with Champions League qualification starting to look unlikely.
“There’s no smoke without fire because now right now we know that Cole Palmer is being linked with a move to Manchester United. Cucurella has now come out and said he’s thinking about his future.
“Enzo Fernandez the same thing. Moises Caicedo hasn’t come out and say but if he gets a phone call from Real Madrid, he’s gone because they don’t know what their future is,” Mikel said, on his podcast.
Jamie Carragher agrees with John Obi Mikel
Ultimately, Chelsea have a squad that boasts Champions League players. They have players that have won the biggest trophies football has to offer, players worth north of £100m and Caicedo is one of them.

Jamie Carragher says Chelsea’s inability to qualify for the Champions League will see their star players want an exit. With Man United and Man City up next, Chelsea’s top-five chances look bleak right now.
Carragher predicted the likes of Fernandez, Caicedo, Cole Palmer, Reece James and Joao Pedro could all look to leave the club if they don’t qualify for Europe’s elite competition. Caicedo then, could depart.
