Patriots predicted to sign Browns free agent for offensive line depth

The New England Patriots could use more depth along their offensive line, especially at tackle.

That's because we saw Will Campbell have struggles in 2025, especially in the playoffs, and he also dealt with an injury.

On the other side, Morgan Moses is a solid right tackle but he's also getting up there in age at 35 years old and decline could come quickly.

Right now, the Patriots backup tackle options include James Hudson, who struggled mightily with the New York Giants last season, and Marcus Bryant, an unproven seventh-round pick of the Patriots in 2025.

With New England's need for more depth, Bleacher Report's Kristopher Knox predicts the Patriots will sign former Cleveland Browns tackle Cam Robinson.

"Starting-caliber left tackles aren't easy to find, and Cam Robinson has loads of starting experience," Knox explained. "The 30-year-old has started 114 of the 117 NFL games in which he has appeared."

"While it makes sense to continue developing Campbell at tackle, the Patriots should be eager to have insurance at the position," Knox added. "Robinson would be a far better backup than recently signed swing tackle James Hudson III."

Robinson began last season with the Houston Texans before being traded to the Browns in a late-September trade.

That trade did not pan out for Cleveland, as Robinson struggled and finished the campaign with eight sacks and 40 pressures allowed.

While obviously not ideal, Robinson has shown he's better than that in the past and, at the very least, he can be a top-notch backup.

And that's exactly what the Patriots need behind Campbell and Moses, which makes them a strong fit for the veteran tackle.
