Liverpool could be set to lose a key player in the summer, and Premier League rivals Chelsea and Manchester City have recently made approaches for his services.
Summer of change could be in store at Anfield
There has been a changing of the guard at Anfield over the past few seasons, with a number of players who played a key role in the success during the Jürgen Klopp era moving on, but Mohamed Salah's exit may be the most seismic to date. Salah, who's won four Golden Boots during his time in the Premier League, recently announced his decision to leave at the end of the campaign, at which point Arne Slot could follow him out the door.
Indeed, Slot's future on Merseyside is in doubt, given that his side are struggling to hit the heights of last season, and the Dutchman has already decided he wants to remain in the Premier League if he is given the sack. Xabi Alonso is in the frame to replace the 47-year-old, in what could be a summer of change at Anfield, with it now emerging that another key player could be set to depart.
Slot favourite pushing to leave Liverpool
According to a report from TEAMtalk, Ibrahima Konate's camp are working on a move elsewhere this summer, with his contract set to expire at the end of the season, and the Frenchman has a whole host of potential suitors waiting in the wings. Real Madrid, Barcelona and Bayern Munich headline the interest from abroad, while Chelsea and Manchester City have held talks about a deal for the defender, with Liverpool at breaking point.
The Reds are growing frustrated by Konate's unwillingness to put pen to paper on a new deal, having recently made him a lucrative offer, and the uncertainty surrounding the centre-back's future will be a worry for Slot. Indeed, even though the 26-year-old has been in the firing line at times this season, he has received backing from his manager, who said after the 4-1 victory against Newcastle United: "He came back Wednesday, trained twice with us, and today, not only did he score a goal but I think he played a great game and the fans were really appreciative throughout the whole game.
"[They] definitely [were] at the end when he scored and his team-mates were just as appreciative when he came in the dressing room after the final whistle." The 27-time France international has predominantly been in the starting XI when fit, particularly catching the eye with his passing ability in the Premier League.

Losing Konate to a direct rival would be frustrating for Liverpool, but it may be out of their hands, given that he now has less than three months remaining on his contract.
