Barcelona president Joan Laporta has hinted at a quiet transfer window for the Spanish club despite ongoing talks for Marcus Rashford.
The future of Marcus Rashford has been a hot topic this season as the Manchester United loanee has a £26m buy option attached to his Barcelona deal.
Barcelona president Joan Laporta has said he wants to keep Rashford, but the Spanish giants seem unwilling to trigger the £26m clause.
United are prepared to welcome Rashford back if Barcelona refuse to pay the full fee, but talks are ongoing to find a solution.

Joan Laporta suggests Barcelona will have quiet transfer window
Laporta appears to be a big admirer of Rashford, but it is no secret that the Catalan club are struggling financially.
There have been reports of Barcelona wanting another loan deal for Rashford, or trying to negotiate a smaller transfer fee.
Laporta’s latest comments, via Football Espana, confirm that Barcelona are not preparing for a big summer spending spree.

“We don’t need to go to the market for the sake of going and we must continue to look at what we have at home to, if necessary, improve the squad,” Laporta said.
“I understand that we will improve in all aspects, but I must say that what I think should be done after getting such a competitive team is to maintain it and consolidate it.”

Laporta’s comments make it clear that Barcelona do not have huge summer transfer plans, and that they are preparing to go into next season with a very similar squad.
But whether that means Rashford is part of that squad or not is unclear.
On one hand, Laporta could be suggesting that Rashford will be kept with the squad to consolidate and maintain what Barcelona have had in 2025/26.
But Laporta’s La Masia comments also suggest that Barcelona could walk away from a deal and instead turn to their academy, rather than paying the £26m fee.

“I believe in La Masia. I already focused on it during my first term. In this, I am not doubtful. I have always had in mind that the best Barça teams – even better, the best Barça team in history – has been when we have had a core of players from home with others of great quality who have come from abroad,” Laporta added.
“We will only sign if the management team asks us for a player or two who can reinforce this great team we have.”
