General manager Joe Schoen could be facing immense pressure during the NFL Draft, but the New York Giants are in prime position to add an elite weapon to quarterback Jaxson Dart’s supporting cast.
Choosing No. 5 overall in the NFL Draft, there’s a solid chance that the Giants may have their pick of one of the top edge rushers in a loaded class at the position, one of the top wide receivers to pair opposite Malik Nabers in New York’s vertical passing game, or perhaps even the premier prospect in the entire class.
NFL Draft: Could the New York Giants select Jeremiyah Love?

Over at ESPN, top NFL Draft analysts Mel Kiper, Matt Miller, Field Yates, and Jordan Reid put together a joint mock draft, which has Notre Dame running back Jeremiyah Love slipping to No. 5 overall, but not sliding past the Giants.
“I know, I know,” Kiper writes for ESPN. “Kiper doesn’t like early-pick running backs. But Love is so much more than just a running back. He’s a dynamic playmaker who could elevate Jaxson Dart and this Giants offense to another level.”

While it’s debatable whether the Giants’ roster is in a position to truly maximize Love’s impact, or New York risks him being the kind of player that Saquon Barkley represented; a premier talent but unable to lift the team to the postseason, there’s no arguing Love’s upside.
Love, though, could be a major piece of the Giants’ offensive puzzle alongside Dart and Nabers as the core of a New York offense on the cusp of meaningfully contending in the seasons ahead.
