On April 2, the Las Vegas Raiders have found their veteran QB that will likely be playing in front of Fernando Mendoza, who many expect to go No. 1 overall to the Silver and Black.

Kirk Cousins‘ agent announced that the player and the Raiders agreed to terms, withESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter reporting, citing sources, that the deal includes $20 million in guaranteed money in 2026.

Moreover, Schefter reported, citing sources, that the contract also includes a club option for two years at $80 million and could be worth up to $172 million over five years.

With the Raiders overhauling their team this offseason to make it a more competitive unit for the 2026 season, Schefter appeared on the April 1 edition of the “Pat McAfee Show” and shared the role minority owner Tom Brady has played in all of these offseason moves.

“I think I’ll look at it in the reverse way,” Schefter said. “I’m not going to tell you how much he’s been a part of it because I don’t know the exact answer, but I can tell you this: None of this surprises Tom Brady. Absolutely none of it. He is in on all of it.

“How much he contributes to the decision, I can’t say. I don’t know. But I guarantee you that he didn’t see the tweet today that the Raiders were signing Kirk Cousins and go, ‘Wow, I didn’t know that. Wow, that surprised me.’ So he’s in on all these things.”

Tom Brady Wants to See Las Vegas Win

Moreover, Schefter noted that Brady wants to see the Raiders win due to his competitive nature.

“Tom’s a competitor,” Schefter added. “He wants that team to win very badly, and he offers his input, however much that matters and factors into the decisions that they make.”

Tom Brady Recently Talked About the Raiders Rebuild

On March 21, Tom Bradywas asked about the Raiders’ new head coach, Klint Kubiak, and Maxx Crosby being back with the team after a failed trade to the Baltimore Ravens. He kept the focus on the bigger picture, pointing to the rebuild in Las Vegas and the goal of building something that lasts.

“My career has allowed me to be around amazing people and mentors like Robert Kraft as an owner of a team, and now getting to work with Mark Davis in the role that I’m in, and to see the different ways things are done and how we’re evolving and growing,” Brady said (h/tVic Tafur of The Athletic).

“We certainly have a long way to go. What I’ve learned about football in 23 seasons is that it takes a tremendous amount of resilience, adversity, discipline, determination, and communication from an entire organization to really see the value in committing to one another.

“So it’s always process over outcomes. We’re all trying, all of us in our own roles, whether it’s ownership, the personnel department, strength and conditioning, athletic training, or obviously players across offense and defense. Everyone’s got to come together, and everyone has to work incredibly hard for the people next to them.”
