Duke defensive lineman Josiah Green showed out at his Blue Devils Pro Day, and it sparked plenty of interest from NFL teams like the Pittsburgh Steelers. Per draft analyst Justin Melo, the Steelers were one of several teams to meet with Green after his impressive workout.
Duke DT Josiah Green had a nice Pro Day showcase!
His shuttle (4.43), 10-yard split (1.65), & 3-cone (7.43) would've ranked 1st among DTs at the Combine. 34" vert + 9'6" broad would've ranked 2nd.

While Melo doesn’t note who Green met with, it was most likely Steelers vice president of player personnel Dan Rooney Jr. Per our tracker, he attended Duke’s Pro Day on March 23.
Green shined with 36 reps on the bench press, tied for most by a Duke player at the school’s Pro Day.
Green offers a unique body type. A historically undersized defensive lineman at 5117 and 284 pounds, his shorter 31 5/8-inch arms (which are relatively long to his frame) made it easier to post more reps. Still, 36 reps on the bench press is an impressive achievement no matter the context. Green also wowed in the rest of his testing. A great 10-split, vertical, broad jump, and agility results create a hyper-athletic profile.
Players like Penn State DL Zane Durant, with a similar skill set, are likely to get drafted so Green shouldn’t be written off entirely.
Spending his first four seasons at Dartmouth, Green transferred up to Duke in 2025. A lack of size didn’t hurt his productivity as the Blue Devils captured the ACC title. He finished the year with 37 tackles (seven for a loss) with 3.5 sacks and three pass deflections. At Dartmouth, he was an All-Ivy League selection in 2024 and played alongside his twin brother, Micah.
Given his lack of size, Green will likely fall out of the draft. But his athleticism and production could see him sign as an undrafted free agent. Fitting into Pittsburgh’s scheme is difficult to project unless he considers a position change to outside linebacker. In 2011, the Steelers signed Southern Miss NT Anthony Gray, who measured an even shorter 5113. In fairness, Gray was much bigger at 330 pounds but posted similar positive athleticism to get him onto an NFL offseason roster.
We’ll attempt to produce a report on Green before April 23 when the 2026 NFL Draft begins.
