Lotte Wubben-Moy reflected on progression for **Arsenal**into the Champions League semifinal.
The Gunners grabbed a 3-1 win in the first leg of their all-English affair with **Chelsea**last week, and they knew that they would advance to the final four of the tournament if they could avoid a two-goal defeat at Stamford Bridge.
The central defender performed diligently in the absence of captain Leah Williamson, launching into a firm first half tackle to deny a breakthrough for Ellie Carpenter. She also had plenty of praise for Daphne van Domselaar, who pulled off several saves to frustrate the hosts late in the second half.
Eventually, the Blues bagged the only goal of the game in the second leg through Sjoeke Nusken, but the reigning champions showed their strength and maturity to manage most of the match well.
“This game required a lot of focus and concentration, but that's what we're made for. These nights are special. The history that this club has in the competition is definitely something that plays to our advantage. To be honest, when you've got those fans screaming behind you, the intensity and the focus is made somewhat easier.
“[We were] Gritty, disciplined. I think our job was kind of cut out for us. We knew we had to come in and give them a hard time, both attacking and defensively. We would have probably liked to have been slightly more aggressive in that first half.
“But ultimately, I think the discipline that every single player had to defend, to come down into the low block, mid-block and limit their chances was something I'm incredibly proud of and it's what allowed us to get over the line.
“[The saves] speak for themselves, to be honest. She was incredible. Everyone put their shift in, but I think in particular kudos to Daphne. She was pretty special.”
