McCaskey also lauded Bears fans worldwide who do not typically attend games.
"They say only 7% of a team's fans—some 100 million people globally—will actually be in the stadium for a game," he said. "So, thank you to all those people at home, in the bars, in the Moose Lodges, all the viral videos, people running out of their houses shirtless, as my favorite niece said at dinner last night, 'strangers hugging strangers,' just unbelievable passion for their Bears. It was very gratifying to see, so thank you to them."
McCaskey loved watching the raucous celebrations on social media, especially following the Bears' two thrilling comeback wins over the Packers.
"The fans were incredible; the social media posts where you see how important their Bears are to them, to their families, to their friends, to perfect strangers," McCaskey said. "Somebody said that one of the great things about going to a sporting event is that you're high-fiving perfect strangers.
"When the Bears are doing well, the greatest city in the world is even better. The divisions seem to fade away, at least temporarily, and the city comes together behind its favorite team and it's very gratifying to see."
Bears President and CEO Kevin Warren told reporters that the team's postseason victory over the Packers drew a 31.16 rating on Prime Video and the divisional game versus the Rams on NBC garnered more than 50 million viewers.
"Just astronomical numbers," Warren said. "Our fandom is at an all-time high. Just got a new report that we have over 108 million fans globally, 21.2 domestically. When you hear those numbers, we are in an exceptional position, the Chicago Bears, as we look forward."
Warren also revealed that he anticipates a 99.8% renewal rate among season ticket holders.
The fans' fervor has been evident to coach Ben Johnson, whether he's standing on the sideline or walking down Michigan Avenue with his wife and children.
"It's just cool being in a place that cares about their sports teams," Johnson told ChicagoBears.com. "It really validates why you want to take a job like this. They're passionate about us winning. I certainly found that at the end of the year.
"Now it's up to us as players and coaches to use that … and keep this going. The only way you do that is you continue to win and make it to the postseason again and go a little bit further next time, eventually win a Super Bowl. We've got to use it in that light and not just enjoy getting pats on the back all the time."
