Arsenal could consider move for Rangers defender

Ahead of the summer transfer window, new reports have revealed that Arsenal could consider a move for Emmanuel Fernandez from Scottish club Rangers.

The Rangers are said to have set to demand a club-record fee for the defender, who has been in impressive form in recent months.

This has seen him attract interest from several top European clubs, including Arsenal, who are out to strengthen their squad ahead of a new campaign.

While Rangers are open to selling Fernandez, they are, however, determined to secure the best deal for him.

According to a report by GiveMeSport, Rangers could demand as much as £40m for the centre-back if they are to sanction a deal.

“A fee in the region of £30m to £40m would make Fernandez the most expensive Rangers sale ever, surpassing Calvin Bassey’s £19.6m move to Fulham in 2022,” the report stated.

It is now left to Arsenal to consider their options and see if they would be willing to spend such amount on the defender.

However, there is no doubt his arrival would add depth and quality to Arsenal’s defence as they aim to compete across multiple competitions next season.

We will have to wait till the summer window to know if the Gunners will submit a bid for him.
