A Steelers Depot daily segment. A quick hit of some Pittsburgh Steelers-related stories that may not require a complete article but nuggets worth mentioning and passing on to you guys.

Your Depot After Dark for April 2.

STEELERS INTERESTED IN TEXAS CB

The draft is this month, and the Steelers should have many opportunities to improve their team. They have 12 picks, including three third-round selections. While the Steelers made some solid moves in free agency, their roster still has holes, so there are several different directions they could take.

Texas corner Malik Muhammad could be a player the Steelers target. Appearing on 3rd and Longhorn’s YouTube channel, Muhammad named Pittsburgh as one team that has shown interest in him. While it’s unclear what that means exactly, Muhammad has a lot of intriguing traits. He’s projected to be a Day 2 picks, and we’ll see if he ultimately ends up in Pittsburgh.

DRAFT PERFORMERS

This year’s draft will be held in Pittsburgh, and it should be special for the city. The Steelers are entering a new era with a new head coach, and they’ve got a ton of draft capital. However, this event will also be an opportunity for the city of Pittsburgh to show itself off.

To help with that, some musical artists will be performing at the draft, as the NFL shared on Twitter. That includes Wiz Khalifa and Bret Michaels, who both grew up in Pittsburgh and are Steelers fans. They’ll perform on Day 2 of the draft, while Kane Brown will be up on Day 3. All three should add some fun to the weekend.

CHRISTIAN KIRK REFLECTS ON PLAYOFF GAME

The Steelers once again failed to win a playoff game last season. While they won the AFC North, they got crushed in the first round by the Houston Texans, losing 30-6. Wide receiver Christian Kirk was a big difference maker for Houston, catching eight passes for 144 yards and one touchdown.

He recently reflected on that performance during an appearance on the In Good Company podcast. Kirk remains humble, explaining that he had been having a rough year, so that game meant a lot to him. It’s unfortunate how things ended for the Steelers, but at least Kirk isn’t rubbing salt into the wound.
