Chelsea insiders are frustrated with the Argentine FA’s lack of media oversight after a series of debatable interviews saw Enzo Fernandez openly flirt with a move to Real Madrid.
Enzo Fernandez has sparked unrest at Chelsea following a series of interviews during the international break, with Real Madrid coming up as the main topic.
Speaking on various channels, Fernandez openly admitted that if he could choose any European city to live in, it would be Madrid, noting its striking similarities to Buenos Aires. He further fueled the fire by naming Real legends Toni Kroos and Luka Modric as his primary idols.
These comments follow a tense period where Fernandez refused to guarantee his future at Chelsea following their Champions League exit to PSG, stating “we’ll see” after the 2026 World Cup.
And it hasn’t gone down too well with Chelsea.

According to Daily Mail, Chelsea insiders are disappointed with the Enzo Fernandez interviews.
The relevant federation, the Argentine FA, is supposed to recognise if the interview is the right one for their player, and outlets have used the opportunity to quiz him on Chelsea, Madrid, and his future.
That’s not the only issue, as the Chelsea players are starting to get annoyed with Fernandez, especially his conduct in the last two games as captain.
It remains to be seen as to whether Liam Rosenior has any plans for him once he returns.
FINAL: Who do YOU think should be Chelsea manager next season?
Liam Rosenior needs to make a statement
Liam Rosenior must take a firm stand by dropping Enzo Fernandez for the upcoming clash against Port Vale to restore discipline and protect the squad’s integrity. As vice-captain, Fernandez’s recent decision to openly flirt with Real Madrid during the international break is a betrayal of his leadership role.
Benching Fernandez isn’t just about punishment; it is a necessity to prioritise players like Romeo Lavia, who remain fully committed to the project.
Against lower-league opposition like Port Vale, Rosenior has the perfect opportunity to demonstrate that no player is bigger than the badge.
