A round-up of the latest Premier League transfer rumours - with news from Arsenal, Newcastle, Liverpool, Bournemouth & Spurs.

It’s been another busy day for the gossipmongers, and as usual we’re back with our morning round-up of some of the biggest (and wildest) Premier League transfer rumours which you might have missed over the past 24 hours – started with a report involving both Arsenal and Newcastle United.

The two top-flight teams are both “circling” Real Madrid striker Gonzalo García ahead of a surprise loan move, according to Sports Boom, who reckon that a temporary move away from the Bernabeu is “on the table” for the 22-year-old while he waits for regular starts in Spain.

Real won’t sanction a permanent sale, it’s said, but he’s being “tracked” by Arsenal and Newcastle to bolster their attacking options for next season. Newcastle, in particular, are said to be “lying in wait” should they end up moving on from the somewhat disappointing Nick Woltemade. Arsenal, meanwhile, see him as a direct replacement for Gabriel Jesus.

The report also reminds us that Aston Villa enquired about signing García over the winter but were rebuffed – but stops short of suggesting that they’ll reignite their interest if a loan deal does look like a real possibility.

The 3AM Verdict: We have a hard time imagining Real loaning García out to a team for whom he wouldn’t be a regular starter, which would surely include Arsenal. It’s harder to guess how many minutes at St. James’ Park, so if a loan deal does become a possibility then that may be a more likely destination for the young forward. We’re gently sceptical that Real let him leave, even on loan, however.

Liverpool & Bournemouth ready ‘monstrous offer’ for Italy starlet

Over to a big story from Sport Witness, now, who suggest that both Liverpool and Bournemouth have “made approaches” to Atalanta in the hopes of striking a deal for 21-year-old Italy international Marco Palestra – who has shone on loan at Cagliari and was one of few Azzurri players to emerge from Tuesday’s shocking defeat to Bosnia & Herzegovina with much credit.

Building on a report from Italian outlet Gazzetta dello Sport, this story claims that Atalanta want a “monstrous offer” to sell him, with a figure in the €40-45m region (£35-39m) floated, but it’s suggested that may not be too much to put the two Premier League sides off a bid for the full-back.

Palestra has also attracted “major interest” from Inter Milan, but their finances may not stretch far enough to meet Atalanta’s valuation – for Liverpool and Bournemouth, however, the asking price “isn’t something will cause problems.”

The 3AM Verdict: An interesting story which is cobbled together from multiple sources – it’s worth noting that while Gazzetta suggest that a move to England is likely, they don’t specifically mention either Liverpool or Bournemouth. Palestra is a genuinely impressive talent, however, so we don’t have any difficult imagining sides like that being prepared to meet Atalanta’s asking price.

Spurs ‘preparing to rival’ other Premier League teams in bidding for Fulham star

Let’s wrap up with a story from TEAMtalk which suggests that Tottenham Hotspur are “preparing to rival” a number of other Premier League clubs in the bidding for Fulham star and impending free agent Harry Wilson.

A deal to bring Wilson to Spurs is now said to be a “concrete possibility,” presumably depending on Spurs maintaining their top-flight status, despite several other sides wanting to snap the Welshman up on a free transfer: Everton, Aston Villa, Sunderland and Leeds are all “firmly in the mix,” apparently.

Spurs, however, now see Wilson as a “key target” following the arrival of new head coach Robert De Zerbi. There’s no word on Wilson’s own thoughts about his next destination just yet, however.

The 3AM Verdict: There’s no particular reason that Spurs shouldn’t make a move to sign Wilson, who’s had a very fine season, but we are a little sceptical about a sudden flurry of stories connecting Spurs with a wide range of players, allegedly because they’re targets for De Zerbi. Has he really demanded the signings of Wilson,Manuel Locatelli andGabriel Sara within a few days of being given the job? We doubt that all of these tales can be true.
