According to a report from MARCA, it has come to light that there is still no progress in talks between Barcelona and Andreas Christensen, even though Barcelona have offered him a new two-year deal.
The situation has now entered a delicate phase, with the club waiting for a response that has yet to arrive.
Part of the complication comes from Christensen’s injury struggles this season.
The defender has been sidelined since late December, and while there is still no exact return date, there is growing optimism within the medical team at Barcelona that he could feature again before the campaign ends.
The expectation is that he may still play at least one more match, though that could turn out to be his last in a Barcelona shirt.
No response from Christensen
Christensen’s contract expires at the end of the season, and Barcelona have already made a renewal offer.
However, the proposal comes with significantly revised terms. The club has offered a two-year extension, but with a salary reduction of roughly half of his current wages.

In addition, a large portion of his earnings would be tied to performance-based variables, particularly linked to the number of matches he plays.
Despite this, there has been no definitive response from Christensen and the silence is beginning to create unease within the club hierarchy.
While the defender has previously indicated a willingness to stay, his delay in making a decision is now raising internal doubts.
There is also a growing sense of frustration, as Barcelona remain in the dark regarding his intentions.
With no clear signal from the player, the club is being forced to prepare for multiple scenarios, including the possibility of losing him on a free transfer.
For now, the situation remains open-ended.
This is because Christensen’s future at Barcelona is still undecided, and unless there is movement soon, what once seemed like a routine renewal could turn into a departure.
