Chelsea sources are divided over keeping Enzo Fernandez, they are ‘unimpressed’

With no club football taking place over the last two weeks due to the international break, the headlines at Chelsea have been dominated by Enzo Fernandez’s precarious position.

Fernandez is eyeing a move to Real Madrid, and has added fuel to the fire by stating his desires to move to the Spanish capital.

Chelsea are set to demand around £100m for the Argentine, a fee which Madrid are unlikely to be able to reach at the end of the season.

Some sources at Chelsea are happy to sell Enzo Fernandez

Despite his clear importance to the playing squad, it seems the way he is carrying himself is not going down brilliantly with some at the club.

According to The Guardian, some at Stamford Bridge would not see it as a disaster if he was to depart at the end of the season.

The report goes on to say that they are ‘unimpressed’ with his recent conduct, with that likely being highlighted in a time where Moises Caicedo has committed his future to the Blues.

It has recently been stated that the Chelsea players have been disappointed in Fernandez for his methods of leadership during their recent slump in form.

The Blues have slipped to sixth in the Premier League table, and are going to need to produce a very strong finish to the season to secure Champions League football.

Chelsea already eyeing new midfielder

Reports have stated that Adam Wharton is Chelsea’s number one transfer target for this summer, after showing previous interest in him before he even moved to the Premier League.

Any deal is expected to cost around £100m, meaning they will likely have to make significant money in the transfer window again.

This could now involve one of their key players for the first time, with Fernandez seemingly ruffling up some feathers at Stamford Bridge.

There is also interest from the club in signing Valentin Barco, although that deal could be completed with him spending more time still at Strasbourg.
