Chelsea’s addiction to player trading is set to continue going into next summer, with one of their most recent signings set to be put back on the market.
There has been a lot of criticism of the club’s recent spending spree, with the exception of Joao Pedro and Estevao Willian who have lifted the quality of the squad.
However, they didn’t add a senior centre-back following the injury to Levi Colwill and have not strengthened their options of Robert Sanchez and Filip Jorgensen between the sticks.

Their other attacking additions have not set the world alight, with Alejandro Garnacho disappointing supporters since his £40m move to Stamford Bridge.
It looks as if he hasn’t won the club over either. Simon Phillips has claimed on his Substack that Chelsea are already open to parting ways with the winger, believing they won’t make a loss on the deal.

He said: “SPTC Sources heard that Chelsea would welcome offers for Alejandro Garnacho in the summer as they look to bring in another new winger.
“Chelsea believe that Garnacho would have a lot of suitors willing to basically pay the same fee that they did to sign him last summer.
“The club apparently believed that the left wing market was dry last summer – but there have been some recruitment regrets from the summer too.
“It’s unclear what Garnacho’s stance is on leaving Chelsea, but he has always had a desire to be more of an important player, and at Chelsea right now, he is not getting that.”

Chelsea will be disappointed with left winger signings
As well as the underwhelming Garnacho, Jamie Gittens is still yet to score a Premier League goal since his big-money move over the summer.
The former Borussia Dortmund man has struggled to establish himself a regular starting berth ahead of Garnacho and even Enzo Fernandez on the left of attack.
Gittens was tipped to star under Liam Rosenior, however has spent most of his tenure on the sidelines due to an injury issue.
Chelsea could really use someone stepping up between now and the end of the season, and that person being Gittens would certainly be a welcome surprise after their summer investment.
