Man United have been linked to signing one of Aston Villa’s star players ahead of the summer.

Whether Carrick is manager or not, Man United will need to ensure they strengthen their squad before the Champions League, as they will need more depth and more quality to compete.

Bruno Fernandes’ contract is due to expire at the end of next season, so he will need replacing. Reports have suggested that United could turn to an Aston Villa star.

Man United interested in Morgan Rogers

Aston Villa attacker Morgan Rogers is currently fighting against the likes of Phil Foden, Cole Palmer and Jude Bellingham for a starting spot in Thomas Tuchel’s England side, but he will also be focused on next season.

According to the Sun, Rogers could leave Aston Villa in the summer, especially if they fail to qualify for the Champions League. It is understood that Rogers has attracted the attention of some top Premier League clubs.

Man United, Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool are all understood to be keen on the England international, with the report suggesting that any deal for Rogers is likely to cost at least £80m, and Aston Villa could demand even more. This season, the 23-year-old has made 44 appearances for Unai Emery’s side, scoring 10 goals, and providing seven assists.

Rogers could replace Fernandes

Rogers is one of the best number 10s in the world right now, and seeing as Fernandes will eventually have to leave Man United, the Red Devils need someone to fill Fernandes ‘ shoes.

They need an attacker who can score and assist, and someone who is used to being a leader in the middle of the park. Rogers is the talisman at Villa, and he’s used to carrying the team on his back, something that Fernandes often does at Old Trafford.

Based on how well Fernandes has performed this season, he has been one of the best players in the Premier League, and Rogers is more than capable of becoming that, if he were to join Man United in the summer.
