Cleveland Browns News and Rumors 04/03/26: Draft Rumors Blast Off

CLEVELAND, OHIO (TheOBR.com) - Good morning, Cleveland Browns fans!

The biggest storyline swirling around Berea right now is the question of what the Browns will actually do with the No. 6 overall pick in the 2026 NFL Draft. GM Andrew Berry was refreshingly candid when he told reporters, "I don't know that we'll be picking at 6" — which is either the understatement of the offseason or the most honest thing any front office exec has said in years. In fact, I'm not sure that Berry could be any more aggressive in his desire to trade down in this draft into an area where the available wide receivers and offensive tackles make more sense than they do at the Browns' current position. Compare this transparency to that surrounding Myles Garrett's situation.

And of course, that's a story that won't go away. A league executive told The Athletic that the recent adjustment of Myles' option bonus date may be a signal that the Browns are exploring a trade of the three-time Pro Bowl defensive end, despite public denials from both Berry and Jimmy Haslam. Of course, Jack Duffin was saying this the instant it happened, but now it's coming from an anonymous NFL exec. So, well, either someone reads the OBR or has belatedly come to the same conclusion. There's still no alternative explanation from the team for why they updated Garrett's contract.

Could Cleveland really trade its franchise cornerstone? Our beloved Browns have a long and storied history of doing barely explicable things, so I'll believe anything at this point. On the forums, the Watercooler has a great thread with Myles pumping the brakes on any Micah Parsons comparison specifically — worth a read. Trading a generational and a certain Hall-of-Fame player like Myles Garrett would be humiliatingly on-brand for the Browns.

The Ty Simpson discussion continues to have inexplicable legs in Cleveland. Mary Kay Cabot made waves by publicly saying she would take a chance on Ty Simpson at No. 6, which is a bold stance. Not one that I would take. Mel Kiper's latest ESPN mock has the Browns going a different direction altogether — drafting a star WR and OT, with Shedeur and Deshaun Watson fighting it out at QB. Whether you're in the Simpson camp or the Shedeur camp (I'm assuming you're not the Watson camp), there's plenty of action about this and other topics on the Ask The Insiders board.

On the personnel front, Joel Bitonio is now reportedly being connected to two teams in free agency. Wait a minute. No, he's not. It's just one of those Bleacher Report speculation lists that have been swiped by local clickbaiters, who claim there is a "connection" between Bitonio and the Chargers or 49ers, which, um, no, there's not. The Browns would take a monster cap hit if he walks, but at this stage in his career, Joe deserves to play wherever makes him happiest. Dawand Jones is also in the news, with a video making the rounds that apparently might ease some concerns about the big man's conditioning and readiness heading into the season, if you're not too busy yelling "STOP PLAYING BASKETBALL" at the screen.

Sad news to report: Anthony Walker has announced his retirement. The linebacker spent time with the Browns and was a fan favorite for his effort and leadership. He goes out on his own terms — respect.

Have a good one! GO BROWNS!

Lucky airplane passengers capture NASA's Artemis 2 moon launch from the sky

How cool would it have been to see something like this? Just amazing videos of Artemis blasting off taken from the vantage point of an aircraft that just happened to be in the right place at the right time. Almost justifies the gigantic pain in the ass that air travel is these days.
