Buffalo Bills head coach Joe Brady and president of football operations/general manager Brandon Beane spent three days earlier this week in Phoenix, AZ for the 2026 NFL owners meeting. During the sessions, owners discussed a wide range of topics, including the potential for an 18-game regular season and the state of negotiations with referees, while general managers and coaches met with the media to address their team’s most pressing questions as the NFL offseason progresses from free agency to the NFL Draft.
Beane and Brady each had sessions with the media in Phoenix, and today’s edition of Buffalo Rumblinks leads off by recapping the biggest lessons we learned about the Bills from Beane and Brady’s press conferences.
Lessons learned about the Buffalo Bills
The Buffalo Bills are built to win right now, and their owner and Bills mafia expect this team to go all the way and finally win that elusive Super Bowl in 2026. But before the Bills can hoist the Lombardi trophy, they need to find a way to dethrone the New England Patriots atop the AFC East, a fact that Brady knows all too well.
During his media availability, Brady admitted that knocking off the Patriots to reclaim the AFC East title has to be the team’s first first step, but he added that just because the Bills ended last year trailing the Patriots in the standings, that doesn’t change the process Brady will install next week when the Bills begin their voluntary workout program on April 7.
Brady also shared how the vision for the Bills is taking shape as the offseason progresses; how he plans to set the tone when players return; his evolving relationship with Josh Allen and how Brady plans on protecting Allen from himself in running situations; why the DJ Moore trade makes sense and how he elevates the Bills offense; and how the Bills are building up their defense.
During his media session, Beane discussed the state of Buffalo’s roster; how Buffalo and Cleveland have a “tentative” join practice scheduled this summer; his thoughts on an 18-game regular season schedule; the impact of the DJ Moore deal; the competition along the offensive line; and more!

Examining the possibility that wide receiver Brandin Cooks returns to Buffalo’s offense in 2026. Plus, why free agent signee C.J. Gardner-Johnson is expected to make a significant impact on defense; why commissioner Roger Goodell is “excited” for the Bills to open their new stadium; how you can get your hands on some unique memorabilia from Buffalo’s old stadium; and more!
