The Las Vegas Raiders have made an eyebrow raising move after giving Kirk Cousins a reported five-year contract worth $172 million -despite being set to select quarterback Fernando Mendoza in the NFL Draft.
Cousins contract though to be filled with technicalities due to his previous deal with the Atlanta Falcons, who he was cut from after signing a four-year, $160 million contract. The veteran quarterbacks contract appears to be similar to Travis Kelce's, which was reported as a three-year deal but is actually a one-year contract - a which in which team's can lower salary cap hits for the current season they are in.

The quarterback has a shot at being the starter, with Mendoza seen as the long-term guy - with the Raiders potentially taking the Patrick Mahomes approach with him and benching him for his rookie season.

The Raiders have signed Kirk Cousins to what has been reported as a $172 million deal, but will actually be a one-year, $20m contract.
It's a hefty deal for a back-up quarterback, suggesting the Raiders may be open to starting Cousins even after selecting Mendoza with the number one pick - a move that looks to be a dead certain.
Cousins has been highlighted as a perfect veteran mentor for Mendoza, being a similar calibre of quarterback to Cousins in their style of play as a pocket passer.
Travis Kelce's lavish bachelor party plans emerge
The Kansas City Chiefs tight end's bachelor plans have been revealed, with Kelce reportedly heading to the Bahamas with Jason Kelce, Patrick Mahomes and a number of others.
The trip will be just weeks before Kelce's wedding to Taylor Swift in Rhode Island - at the same venue where Christian McCaffrey and Olivia Culpo married.
According to Page Six, the group heading to the Bahamas will be playing golf and staying in a large villa, with dinner plans each night of the trip.

Bears set deadline on $5 billion stadium
The Bears have set a deadline of late spring or early summer of this year before deciding on the future of their $5 billion new stadium, having played in Soldier Field since 1971.
The organization is reportedly strongly considering moving to Indiana where they could build a domed stadium - despite it being an unpopular decision to be out of the state of Illinois.

Bears president and CEO Kevin Warren recently stated: "We’re in an excellent position. I recently said that the target is to make sure we have a decision made by springtime here soon. Late spring, early summer would be that from a target.”
