The NFL announced the offseason program schedules for all 32 teams Friday.
The Patriots will begin their voluntary offseason program on April 20. The program begins with conditioning and classroom work. The next phases progress to drills on the field, including Organized Team Activities (OTAs). Those OTA practices, also voluntary, are set for May 27, May 29, June 1-2, June 4, June 8-9, June 11.
The Patriots’ mandatory minicamp will be held June 15-17. All veterans and rookies must attend. Minicamp is scheduled a week later than it has been in recent years, indicating training camp has been pushed back to the final week of July this summer.
The NFL regular season will open during the second week of September with a Wednesday night kickoff in Seattle on Sept. 9. The Patriots are a candidate to play in that game, with a scheduled road game against the Seahawks. If they don’t travel to Seattle for the opener, their season should start Sunday, Sept. 13.
