Chelsea’s recruitment blueprint for the upcoming transfer window is beginning to take shape, with the hierarchy identifying two non-negotiable targets.
Chelsea already have Dastan Satpaev set to join this summer once he turns 18. He joins a pipeline that includes Sporting’s Geovany Quenda and the arrival of Emanuel Emegha from Strasbourg.
Despite the influx of wonderkids, there is structural weaknesses under Liam Rosenior. The most pressing issue is in goal, where Robert Sanchez’s inconsistency and Filip Jorgensen’s struggles have cost Chelsea.
Defensively, the squad lacks cohesion; injuries to Reece James and Trevoh Chalobah have exposed a lack of reliable depth at centre-back.
The one word that keeps on coming up at Chelsea is ‘experience’, albeit the lack of it. Even Axel Disasi brought up the departure of Thiago Silva as a turning point for the club.

Remember: Enzo Fernandez will not be available…
Chelsea set out to sign a defender and a midfielder
According to Kaveh Solhekol, Chelsea will sign a centre-back and a midfielder, while a goalkeeper signing cannot be ruled out, although that could be Mike Penders returning.
In terms of a midfielder, the likes of Elliot Anderson and Adam Wharton have already been linked. Especially with Enzo Fernandez’s future up in the air after his comments of late.
Strahinja Petrovic, a centre-back, has also been rumoured to be on Chelsea’s radar, though nothing has progressed at this moment in time.
The supposed transfer that has progressed the most is Valentin Barco’s potential move to Chelsea, with the Blues closing in on a deal for the Strasbourg midfielder.
