Chelsea star Moises Caicedo failed to rule out a potential transfer to Real Madrid when asked about where his career may take him. The Blues have been rocked by captain Enzo Fernandez flirting with Real - and now Caicedo has added to the uncertainty around the squad.
Chelsea manager Liam Rosenior has decided to drop Fernandez for the next two matches, saying "a line was crossed" in his recent comments. The Argentina international admitted he liked Madrid and would like to live in Spain. Fernandez's agent has branded his punishment "completely unfair".
His words come amid a difficult period for Chelsea, with four straight defeats seeing them knocked out of the Champions League by Paris Saint-Germain and drop to sixth in the Premier League. Rosenior has tried to steady the ship ahead of Saturday's FA Cup quarter final against Port Vale, but there is clearly discontent in the ranks, with Marc Cucurella also speaking out during the international break.
Caicedo is another key player for Rosenior and his words, while away on international duty with Ecuador in Madrid, won't help matters. "You never know in football, don't you think?" Caicedo told AS when asked if he could imagine himself wearing the white of Real Madrid.
"I have a contract with Chelsea now. The truth is, I haven't honestly thought about another club, about leaving London, but well, in the end, you never know in football.
"All I want is to enjoy myself. I have a contract and I want to keep playing as long as God allows. After that, we'll see what happens. I have a contract, but we'll see what the future holds. Let's see what surprises await us."
Caicedo has made 139 appearances for Chelsea since joining in a £115million move from Brighton in August 2023. He is under contract until June 2031 and did make it clear that he is happy in west London.

"Chelsea is a great club," he added. "They've helped me a lot since I arrived. I want to repay them, to show it in every game, for as long as I'm there. And well, time will tell."
Chelsea defender Cucurella spoke openly about how the squad had struggled since Enzo Maresca was replaced by Rosenior in January. And Caicedo made a similar point when asked about their current situation.
"Yes, it's a little difficult because we were with a coach we were used to playing with, with his style," he said. "But now we have Rosenior with us. It's been a bit of a struggle to adapt, it's true, but I know it's just a matter of time to get used to something new.
"Sometimes you adapt faster, sometimes it takes a little longer. Anyway. I think the whole team is going through a tough time right now, yes. We have to keep going, we have to try to get through this, the season, because we have a lot of great things ahead of us."
