WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) - A report from ESPN said that Chiefs wide receiver Rashee Rice will face no discipline after the NFL looked into abuse allegations by Rice’s former girlfriend.
The investigation, the report said, is closed. The NFL said it found no evidence that Rice violated the league’s personal conduct policy.
Dacoda Jones, Rice’s former girlfriend, made allegations of abuse against Rice in January, accompanied by photos that showed bruises and wounds on multiple parts of her body.
Jones said the abuse had gone on for numerous years. She did not name Rice in posts alleging the abuse, but she said the person who abused her is the father of her children.
Rice and Jones have two children together.
Jones is suing Rice in Texas for more than $1 million, alleging Rice repeatedly assaulted her from 2023-25.
Last July, a Dallas County judge sentenced Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver for his role in a multi-car crash on Easter weekend in 2024.
Rice was sentenced to five years of probation and 30 days of jail time that can be served during those five years.
Rice and his former SMU teammate, Theodore Knox, were racing sports cars on a Dallas freeway in April 2024 when they crashed, causing a chain-reaction involving six cars.
Rice was suspended for six games last season for his role in the crash.
