Defensive tackle Rakeem Nunez-Roches previously spent five seasons with the Bucs, including 2020 when they won Super Bowl 55.
The Bucs added some experience and energy to their defensive line with Rakeem Nunez-Roches agreeing to a one-year deal.
Nunez-Roches spent five seasons with the Bucs from 2018-22 and was part of their Super Bowl 55 championship team.
He started 11 of 16 games for the Bucs in 2020 and had two sacks in 2022.
Nunez-Roches, 32, was a sixth-round draft pick of the Chiefs in 2015. The Bucs needed some experience after losing defensive end Logan Hall, who signed with the Texans as a free agent.
Nunez-Roches signed as a free agent with the Giants in 2023 and spent the past three seasons there. He has 233 career tackles and nine sacks.
His biggest contribution may be the energy he brings to the defensive huddle.
The Bucs have added several veteran players to the defensive line and at outside linebacker, a list that includes Carolina defensive tackle A’Shawn Robinson and Lions outside linebacker Al-Quadin Muhammad.
In three seasons with the Giants, Nunez-Roches recorded 5.5 sacks.
