Newcastle United & Arsenal set to be impacted by last-minute Premier League change - on one…

Arsenal v Newcastle United: There could be another Premier League fixture change coming up for the Magpies.

Newcastle United’s Premier League trip to Arsenal on April 25 is likely to be rescheduled despite being selected for live television broadcast.

The match is currently set to be broadcast live on Sky Sports at 5:30pm on the Saturday evening at the Emirates Stadium.

But the match could be rescheduled due to Arsenal’s FA Cup commitments. The Gunners face Championship side Southampton in the FA Cup quarter-final this Saturday evening.

Should they win and progress to the semi-finals, their Premier League match against Newcastle would have to be rescheduled. The semi-final ties take place at Wembley Stadium on Saturday, April 25 and Sunday, April 26.

FA Cup fixtures take precedence over Premier League fixtures, meaning Newcastle could be facing a midweek trip to London.

Potential fixture date for NUFC

The Premier League have stated that the fixture would be rescheduled to take place between Tuesday, April 21 and Thursday, April 23. As Arsenal are already facing Manchester City on Sunday, April 19, any rearrangement would likely be to April 22 or April 23.

Alternatively, Southampton could pull off an FA Cup shock, and the Premier League match will go ahead as planned.

Newcastle have not won a Premier League match at the Emirates Stadium since 2010 but did beat Arsenal away in the Carabao Cup semi-final last season with Alexander Isak and Anthony Gordon scoring in a 2-0 win en route to winning the competition.

The reverse fixture between the sides at St James’ Park earlier this season saw Newcastle take the lead through Nick Woltemade before late goals from Mikel Merino and Gabriel saw Arsenal snatch three points.
