Chelsea in contact over move for PSG striker

Chelsea will hope to avoid a huge shock when they host League One side Port Vale in the FA Cup quarter-finals on Saturday.

The Blues welcome their third-tier opponents to Stamford Bridge off the back of a run of four consecutive defeats across all competitions, and head coach Liam Rosenior will expect to see his side return to winning ways after the international break.

Victory on Saturday will see the west London side book their place in the semis at Wembley, and keep alive their hopes of winning a trophy this term.

In the meantime, though, it has emerged that Chelsea are eyeing a move to sign a Portuguese striker from the French top flight.

As reported by TEAMtalk, the Blues have been in contact with Paris Saint-Germain striker Goncalo Ramos about a possible move this summer.

It is claimed that the Portugal international is ready to leave the French capital during the upcoming summer transfer window, and contact has already been made with both Chelsea and Newcastle United.

Ramos, 24, joined PSG from on loan from Portuguese side Benfica in 2023, before making his move permanent the following year.

In total, the forward has netted 45 goals in 125 matches for PSG across all competitions, as well as providing ten assists.

The Portuguese was part of Luis Enrique’s squad that won the treble last season, ending the club’s wait for a first ever Champions League triumph.

Despite featuring 39 times already this season, it is claimed that both Ramos and PSG are in agreement that a move may be best for both parties.

Ramos is said to have been the subject of interest last summer, following a successful season, but the striker has started just ten Ligue 1 matches so far this term.
