Aston Villa could make a move for exciting Paris Saint-Germain winger Ibrahim Mbaye this summer.
The 18-year-old Senegalese forward is reportedly open to leaving the French giants in the upcoming window, and Villa are understood to be one of many clubs monitoring the situation.
Qualifying for the Champions League will naturally make Villa a more attractive proposition for any target they pursue in the coming months.
Having come through the Ligue 1 club’s youth system, Mbaye made the breakthrough at PSG last season and has played 25 times for the European champions so far this season, with 15 of those appearances coming as a substitute.
He was also part of the Senegal squad which won the Africa Cup of Nations in January, coming off the bench in six of his nation’s seven matches.
PSG blocked a move for their young talent in the winter, but L’Equipe claimed that the player still visited Man City’s training complex, although this is something his entourage insists never happened.
PSG boss Luis Enrique has previously been full of praise for the player who is under contract at PSG until 2028.
"He's a quality player, and we're very happy to have players of his calibre,” he said at the end of last year.
"He's still very young, and we have a lot of confidence in his future."
