Cam Newton is known as a former quarterback who played for 11 seasons in the NFL. He played primarily for the Carolina Panthers, though he also played for the New England Patriots.
Newton has not played in the league since 2021, and works in the media industry. Before his NFL career, he played for the Auburn Tigers college football program. He recently returned there to give a rousing speech, though fans did not take kindly to it.

Newton led the Auburn during their BCS National Championship Game win back in 2010, and was also the Heisman Trophy winner that year.His 2010 season is often considered the best ever by one of the program’s players, and he is often touted as the best player in their history. After that impressive season, he got drafted by the Panthers and had a successful career in the NFL.

Even after leaving the NFL, he has not forgotten his roots and often visits his former college team. As well as following and supporting them during games, he also actively participates in their sessions.
He was recently invited to a workout session at the Woltosz Football Performance Center. He personally worked out with the recruits and Strength and Conditioning Coach George Courides. After the workout was finished, the former quarterback feltcompelled to give a fiery speech.
A viral video shows him saying, “If they ain’t about winning they can get out of my face and go back to where they came from. I’m tired of supporting something that’s not winning! Can you deliver that message to the parents? Especially to the parents. Before they ask for money, WE. WANT. WINNERS. That’s our restitution. We give you money, you give us wins, and if you don’t. CTRL. ALT. DELETE.” However, this was not taken well by many fans.
Fans roast Cam Newton after Auburn Tigers speech
Many users felt that Newton’s speech attacked the recruits for no real fault, and that he should remember his own past mistakes in the NFL. Many reminded him of his own mistake, when he failed to capitalize on a fumble during the 2015 Super Bowl game against the Denver Broncos.
One user said, “Simply a thought, but is Cam Newton detrimental to the future development of the Auburn Football Program? In my opinion, yes.”
A second user wrote, “Cam Newton was a sucky QB. never worked on his pass, thats why his career did last longer. i wouldnt be taking much advice from him honestly . he doesnt have the resume to back up his demands lol”.
A third user replied, “Remember when he didn’t jump on the fumble in the Super Bowl.”.
Another added, “Why Cam Newton is always fighting with kids man…”
A fifth user remarked, “Coming from a guy who wouldn’t go after a fumble in the fucking Super Bowl..”
A sixth user commented, “He didn’t dive on a fumble in the Super Bowl. What is he talking about?”
Though his speech was not well-received by fans, Cam Newton will be hoping to help the Auburn Tigers as much as possible.
