'Absolutely devastated': Joe Hart shares what he noticed about Mo Salah at half-time of Man City vs Liverpool

The Manchester City tie was Mohamed Salah’s first game back since confirming he will be leaving Liverpool at the end of the season.

However, to say it did not go to plan for the Egyptian would be putting it lightly.

Salah missed a penalty as Liverpool lost 4-0 against Manchester City, and Joe Hart has now revealed that the winger looked ‘devastated’ at half-time.

Mohamed Salah looked ‘devastated’ against Manchester City

Hart covered the game as a pundit for TNT Sports alongside former Liverpool striker Robbie Fowler.

Speaking live on Saturday, the ex-Sky Blues keeper shared that he spotted Salah after 45 minutes of action, and he looked ‘devastated’.

Hart also pointed out how ‘difficult’ it was to watch Salah, who also missed a big chance in the first half, against City.

He said: “It was difficult watching him today actually. We’re so used to him being a confident player and I think that first opportunity that he had, when Khusanov fell over, got back up and tackled him, was a real tell-tale in how Mo Salah was going to play today.

“We saw him walk in at half time and he was devastated. Absolutely devastated. But he’s a senior player, he’s a big player for Liverpool. And obviously it will be difficult, and that last game of the season when he waves goodbye will be emotional. But right now he’s got to put it all out on the pitch and score goals for his team.”

Mohamed Salah’s stats for Liverpool vs Man City

After announcing he will be leaving, fans may have hoped to see Salah revitalised and giving his all as he searches for a new club.

An uptick in form from a player eyeing a new contract is quite common, but we are yet to see that with the forward at Liverpool.

He finished the game with two big chances missed, 13 out of 15 passes completed, two shots on target and three out of six dribbles completed.

PSG are next up, and Salah is expected to start the Champions League tie. Let’s just hope we see something more from him on Wednesday and in the rest of the games remaining this term.
