Chelsea player ratings vs Port Vale as Estevao stars and 9/10 man steps up in Enzo Fernandez’s absence

Chelsea have booked their place in the FA Cup semi-finals after a dominant win over Port Vale. Let’s take a look at the player ratings from the game.

Goals from Jorrel Hato, Joao Pedro, and an own goal before half-time put the game beyond reach for Chelsea’s lower league opponents, before Tosin Adarabioyo, Andrey Santos, Estevao Willian and Alejandro Garnacho added to the dominance in the second half.

Liam Rosenior made the bold statement to suspend Enzo Fernandez for the game, with him set to remain out the squad to face Manchester City too.

Anything to take away from this?

This allowed Romeo Lavia and Andrey Santos the chance to impress. The Chelsea Chronicle has delivered it’s verdict on those two as well as the rest of the Chelsea squad from the quarter-final.

Robert Sanchez – 6/10

About as simple as a performance comes for Robert Sanchez, who will have been craving a game out of the spotlight.

Malo Gusto – 8/10

Some really nice interplay with Pedro Neto in the first half allowed him to play a very attacking role, the area of the pitch he excels in. Picked up an assist upon his return from a promising international break.

Tosin Adarabioyo – 9/10

Not everyone will have been happy that Tosin started ahead of either Josh Acheampong or Mamadou Sarr, but he enjoyed a much-welcome very solid performance at the back to go alongside his bullet header.

Is it the easy opposition? Or is he starting to stake a claim?

Wesley Fofana – 7/10

Similarly untested at the back, although did show off a nice range of passing when the pressure was off the Blues after their electric start.

Jorrel Hato – 8/10

Continued his excellent run in the FA Cup with the opening goal. In a week where Chelsea’s other left-back has dominated the headlines, Hato continued to go about his own business very well.

Romeo Lavia – 8/10

Exactly the kind of game Romeo Lavia needed as he continues his road to full recovery. Had too much quality for the opposition, buying himself plenty of space for a very tidy performance.

Andrey Santos – 9/10

Made the game look incredibly easy at the heart of Chelsea’s midfield, showing that he was ready to step up in Fernandez’s absence. A nice header to make it 5-0 too.

Cole Palmer – 6/10

Was unfortunate to see the third goal taken off him and to not get on the teamsheet. The best part of Cole Palmer’s game was the fact Chelsea were comfortable enough to take him off after an hour.

Estevao Willian – 9/10

Looked far more comfortable when moved over to the right on the second half, creating plenty of chances for his teammates before his corner was nodded home. Hit the woodwork twice in the second half too.

Pedro Neto – 8/10

Showed his quality to help put the game to bed, setting up his striker for the second goal. Still no goal for Pedro Neto, but an encouraging performance.

Joao Pedro – 7/10

No matter the competition, Pedro continues to score goals for Chelsea. Another for his growing tally, and a half an hour rest to go with it too.

Liam Delap – 5/10

Hardly got a touch, much to the annoyance of Rosenior who will have been hoping to see him find the net.

Alejandro Garnacho – 7/10

Should have scored after some brilliant football from Chelsea just after his arrival to proceedings, but found the net from the spot with seconds to go.

Dario Essugo – N/A

Ryan Kavuma-McQueen – N/A

Great moment for the academy star, handed his debut at Stamford Bridge.

Josh Acheampong – N/A
