This has been a massive offseason of change for the Miami Dolphins franchise. Not only are Mike McDaniel and Chris Grier gone, with Jeff Hafley and Jon-Eric Sullivan taking over, but the roster looks a lot different.
Tua Tagovailoa, Bradley Chubb, Tyreek Hill, and Jaylen Waddle are all gone, with the Dolphins entering what might be a long rebuild.
But that long-term rebuild doesn't mean that the now isn't important. As NFL.com draft analyst Lance Zierlein notes, the 2026 NFL Draft is a very important one for the future success of the Dolphins, thanks to their seven picks inside the top 100.
Dolphins need to nail 2027 NFL Draft with 7-of-top-100 picks
"The Dolphins have seven picks inside the top 100, including two first-round selections, so they really need to make their mark in the 2026 draft." Zierlein writes. "... There are holes all over the roster that need to be filled, and this is the best opportunity the Dolphins may get to set themselves up for future success - if they can hit on all of those picks."
Hitting on all seven picks inside the top-100 will be very difficult. With four third-rounders, one second-rounder, and two first-rounders at No. 11 and 30 overall, the Dolphins have plenty of ammo.
Miami has the capital to bring in a ton of talent this offseason, and while getting great players at every spot won't be easy, if they can get a good haul, they could be in store for a lot of success for years to come.

This is the first season of a rebuild, but the team should still be improving steadily. And the 2026 NFL Draft, with two picks inside the top 30 and seven inside the top 100, is a prime chance to improve the team in just a few days.
There are plenty of teams that need their 2026 draft haul to be great, including the in-division New York Jets. But, for Miami to land a great haul with their abundance of selections, they could be set up for long-term success in the near future.
A Dolphins rebuild might not last too long if their 2026 draft picks are, for the most part, hits. It's an important time for Miami, as this much capital doesn't come around often, especially now that most of the valuable players are gone.
