Chelsea are going to Wembley after a thrashing of Port Vale, and Liam Rosenior was asked what it meant for him as he makes the early steps in his managerial career.
The coach tried to point out that, while it was an honour for him, it’s just par for the course for Chelsea.
Rosenior already on to Man City after cup win
“That’s what you dream of, but people keep asking me questions about what does it mean for me. I’m manager and head coach of a huge club where it’s deemed normal for us to be in that situation,” Rosenior said in the post-game press conference.
“So I’ll think about Wembley when we’re there. We’ve got a huge game against Manchester City next Sunday that my focus is fully on now.”
It’s pure manager speak, but he certainly has a point. Nobody will be thinking about our trip to Wembley if City take us apart next week. But there’s no denying, when that game comes around, it will be a nice feeling for fans and players who have had some tough times of late – and of course for the manager.
In other news…
There was some bad news from the game – Jamie Gittens has had yet another hamstring injury.
Estevao was the star of the show in today’s win, and he got a goal right at the end, just reward for his effort.
