Carnell Tate linked to New York Giants in "dream" draft scenario.

In a few short weeks, the New York Giants will add another top-five pick to their promising young core. While there are multiple routes they can go, adding another offensive weapon is seen as one of their best outcomes.

It’s been a busy offseason for the Giants, as they’ve made an array of changes across the organization. They’ve brought in a new head coach in John Harbaugh, along with multiple additions in free agency. Now, the Giants have a chance to continue bolstering the roster via the draft.

While breaking down the first round for Bleacher Report, Alex Ballentine laid out “dream” scenarios for every NFL team. In the case of the Giants, they selected Ohio State wide receiver Carnell Tate.

“The Giants fight the urge to take a running back with the fourth overall pick and select a difference-maker at a premium position,” Ballentine wrote. “They have too big of a need at tackle or wide receiver to go another direction with Francis Mauigoa and Carnell Tate on the board.”

Coming off a junior season where he recorded 875 yards and nine touchdowns, Tate is viewed as one of the top wideouts of the 2026 draft class. If New York were to take him, they’d have a pair of young, dynamic receivers to deploy alongside Jaxson Dart.

NFL Analyst Urges Giants to Take Jeremiyah Love

While some feel Tate is the guy for the Giants at No. 5, he is not the only offensive weapon tied to the Giants leading up to the draft. Another name regularly thrown around is Notre Dame running back Jeremiyah Love.

In a recent appearance on ESPN TV, longtime analyst Mel Kiper Jr. gave his thoughts on what New York should do with their first-round pick. Given his versatile skill set in the backfield, he thinks Love is the clear choice for New York.

“Dynamic game-breaker,” Kiper said of Love. “Jeremiyah Love is a special entity. Talk about the best players in this draft I went Mendoza one Jeremiyah Love two. Jeremiyah Love is a versatile, multi-dimensional, all-around talent.”

Love has already met with the Giants ahead of the NFL Draft and spoken positively of his visit with the organization.

Potential Giants Target Compared to Pro-Bowl WR

During the March 30th installment of “The Arena: Gridiron,” Hayden Winks laid out how he expects the first round of the draft to play out. He too has the Giants nabbing Tate in the top five.

Winks admitted that Tate isn’t a top-tier prospect, but is still someone who can elevate any team’s offense. With his size and ability to make plays down the field, he feels the Ohio State standout draws similarities to Dallas Cowboys receiver George Pickens.

“I still think he’s probably going to go in the top ten because there’s a lot of teams that need a wide receiver. I think the Titans could do that, the Giants definitely,” Winks said. “I do think that he’s the best well-rounded wide receiver and he reminds me of George Pickens at the catch points down the field.”

The Giants have just under three weeks to finish up their draft prep, with the first round slated for April 23rd.
