Eagles 25-year-old trade candidate could receive interest from Steelers, Packers and Jets

The Philadelphia Eagles recently added veteran quarterback Andy Dalton to serve as the presumed No. 2 quarterback behind Jalen Hurts.

With Dalton now in the fold for the Eagles, Tanner McKee could emerge on the trade block, and Bleacher Report's Alex Kay believes the young quarterback could be an under-the-radar trade candidate who gets dealt during the draft in a few weeks.

"If a team gets desperate during the upcoming NFL draft, it wouldn't be a complete shock to see McKee get moved for a conditional Day 2 pick," Kay said.

Philadelphia hasn't shown much of a willingness to trade McKee so far, but that could change in the coming weeks if general manager Howie Roseman wants to acquire more draft capital.

McKee has shown promise in six-game appearances, tossing five touchdowns to one interception with a 61.4% completion rate. The Stanford product could help out a team that lacks a dependable backup quarterback or a franchise that needs more competition in its signal-caller room.

Steelers, Packers, Jets could have interest in McKee

The Pittsburgh Steelers, Green Bay Packers, and New York Jets are three teams that could pursue McKee in a trade.

If Aaron Rodgers doesn't return to Pittsburgh for the 2026 season, the Steelers could trade for McKee and create a three-way quarterback battle between Will Howard, Mason Rudolph, and, obviously, McKee, for the starting job.

Green Bay has yet to replace Malik Willis, who left for the Miami Dolphins in free agency. McKee would be a solid replacement for Willis as the backup behind Jordan Love.

New York already inquired about trading for McKee earlier in the preseason, so it's clear they are interested in the Eagles quarterback. McKee would provide some competition behind Geno Smith and could potentially take over as the starter at some point in 2026.

Philadelphia may hold on to McKee, and there's still a chance he outplays Dalton for the backup spot. However, trading him also makes sense, with the Steelers, Packers, and Jets as possible trade partners.
