NFL Head Coach Hit By Own Players As Shocking Details Emerge (Video)

The NFL is not only one of the most followed leagues in the United States, but their fan base is growing worldwide every year. Their consistent presence in yearly overseas games has generated millions of fans outside of the continental United States. That means that the league, their players, and coaches become well known to millions of people across the world.

However, reports have recently surfaced that one NFL head coach suffered a severe amount of disrespect during his tenure. So much so that players even “put hands on him.” Here are the shocking details.

Players Would Put Hands On Former NFL Head Coach Mike McDaniel

In a candid interview, NFL running back Raheem Mostert claimed that he saw players come in physical contact with the former Miami Dolphins’ head coach. Here is the video:

“there was a lack of respect… you got guys cussing coaches out on the sideline… numerous times and even put hands on a coach

McDaniels first started coaching in the league back in 2005 with the Denver Broncos when he accepted a coaching intern position. He would go on to coach for the Houston Texans, Washington Redskins (later named the Commanders), Cleveland Browns, San Francisco 49ers, and Atlanta Falcons. He various positions included running backs coach, offensive assistant, wide receivers coach, and offensive coordinator.

He would go on to accept the Miami Dolphins’ head coaching job in 2022 and held that position until 2025. When the Dolphins fired him after the 2025 season he quickly signed on as the Los Angeles Chargers’ offensive coordinator. Regardless of his “player friendly” approach, to see players would actually lay hands on him is shocking.

Regardless of this report, the Chargers seem extremely excited to have McDaniel on their side in 2026. His work with offenses over the years has not gone unnoticed. Daniel Popper of The Athletic went in depth with what McDaniel accomplished with Tua Tagovailoa in Miami:

“In 2023, former Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa played 17 games for McDaniel. That season, according to TruMedia, Tagovailoa had 336 true dropbacks — meaning dropbacks with no play action or screen.

That came out to under 20 true dropbacks per game. In 2025, Herbert had 418 such dropbacks in 16 games. That came out to over 26 true dropbacks per game

. In theory, Herbert and the Chargers offensive line will be in true dropback protection about seven fewer times per game in this new system.”

Justin Herbert has shown flashes at times of being an elite starter in this league. It seems like Mike McDaniel is an excellent candidate to take Herbert to the next level.
