From afar it seems like 2026, may be Sam Darnold and new wife Katie Hoofnagle’s best year yet. Less than two months after the Seattle Seahawks won the Super Bowl, Darnold and his longtime girlfriend are officially married.
Hoofnagle took to Instagram to break the news that the couple is now married.
“I have a husband now btw (by the way),” Hoofnagle said in an April 4, 2026, Instagram Story message while posting a photo of herself wearing a new wedding ring.
On March 17, Hoofnagle gave fans a glimpse of her tennis-themed bachelorette party.
“Causing a racket or whatever,” Hoofnagle noted in a March 17, Instagram post.

Darnold not only beat the odds to resurrect his NFL career but is now a Super Bowl champion. After the Seahawks’ Super Bowl victory, Hoofnagle posted a heartfelt message about Darnold.
“And despite everything, you remained kind,” Hoofnagle detailed in an April 4, Instagram post. “In moments where it would’ve been so easy to make excuses or put the blame on somebody else, you never wavered. Your patience, respect, discipline, and humility have continuously shone through, even on the hardest days of the journey.
“It’s an honor and a privilege to share you with the world on Sundays, and I’m so grateful that you finally got your flowers on the biggest stage. As long as I’m alive, you’ll always have someone who is proud of you in everything that you do,” Hoofnagle added.

After stops with four other NFL teams, it appears Darnold and Hoofnagle can finally put down roots in Seattle. Darnold’s three-year, $100 million contract is slated to go through the 2027 season.
After initially signing his contract with the Seahawks, Darnold expressed gratitude for Hoofnagle.
“The support [from] my girlfriend is unbelievable,” Darnold explained during a March 17, interview with US Weekly’s Daniel Trainor . “The fact that she just understands it. She’s a former athlete herself, and just gets kind of the grind of everything.
“When I just want to chill, she’s very up for that, especially during the season. …She’s great. She’s always been my biggest supporter. And I love her, and I thank her for that all the time,” Darnold noted
“… If she wants to go somewhere and I just want to chill, she’s like, ‘Let’s go out to dinner. We need to go to dinner.’”
