Steelers 2026 Pre-Draft Moves – Interior Offensive Line

The Pittsburgh Steelers are most of the way through the first part of the offseasonleading up to the draft. Before we get there, we’re going totake stock of how the roster has evolved over the past several weeks. Position by position, we’ll break down who’s coming and going and what’s next for those rookies and those already here.

Position: Interior Offensive Line

Total Positional Figure: 8

Offseason Additions: 2

Offseason Deletions: 1

Players Retained:

Zach Frazier: The Steelers rebuilt their offensive line with one draft class, practically, and Zach Frazier is at the center of it. I mean, literally, because he is the center. But he is also the brain, if you ask Aaron Rodgers. He might not be the most talkative of the group, but he’s a hard-working, no-nonsense guy.

Mason McCormick: The Steelers’ third offensive line pick of 2024, Mason McCormick, was supposed to be groomed for a future starting role. He started prematurely due to injury, but he has emerged as a very stout guard.

Spencer Anderson: Spencer Anderson could be a part of the Steelers’ starting offensive line after Isaac Seumalo left in free agency. He has started several games before, but obviously, holding a starting job is another matter. More recently, he has been allowed to focus on guard, which is to his advantage.

Ryan McCollum: Depending on how the Steelers want to manage their offensive line, Ryan McCollum could remain the backup center. But newly-signed Brock Hoffman is also a center—if he’s not starting at guard.

Steven Jones: A big-bodied guard, Steven Jones has hung around for a while now. He spent the 2024 season on the Jaguars’ practice squad and was with the Steelers last year. Still, he would need a really strong offseason to make a jump.

Aiden Williams: One of Pittsburgh’s rookie college free agent signings, Aiden Williams bounced around last year. He only spent a week on the Steelers’ practice squad, but later resurfaced with the Panthers. At the end of last season, he signed a futures contract to return to Pittsburgh.

Players Added:

Brock Hoffman: So far, Brock Hoffman is the Steelers’ only significant addition to the offensive line. Though not historically a starter, he has about a season of starting experience. He could compete to take over the left guard spot, with Spencer Anderson his primary competition, for now at least.

Sataoa Laumea: Drafted by the Seahawks in the sixth round in 2024, Laumea started six games that season. But those 358 snaps constitute the entirety of his NFL experience so far. He spent most of last season without a job, not even on a practice squad. The Steelers signed him to a futures contract in mid-January to add offensive line depth.

Players Deleted:

Isaac Seumalo: A starter on the Steelers’ offensive line for the past three seasons, Isaac Seumalo departed in free agency. Landing a bigger contract with the Cardinals than he could have gotten from Pittsburgh, it’s hard to blame him. Though he was injury-prone and is 32 years old, he leaves a significant void in the starting lineup.

Notes And Draft Outlook:

The Steelers’ offensive line rebuild remains ongoing, but losing Isaac Seumalo was the most predictable variable. He was the only older starter in the group, so he never had a long-term future. Pittsburgh could look to draft a guard as early as the first round. It would be surprising if they exited Day 2 without one, and a rookie could challenge to start.

As of now, Spencer Anderson and Brock Hoffman are slated to duke it out for the left guard job. Both have some history of decent play as reserves. Whoever takes over, however, also inherits a potential question mark at left tackle.
