This trade pitch would see the Browns send Myles Garrett to the Patriots for a massive return

The Cleveland Browns are very clearly undergoing a rebuild, but they have a great opportunity to accelerate their process this offseason. The team’s biggest goal involves identifying its quarterback of the future, but it remains to be seen if any of the guys on their roster at this spot fit the bill.

The 2026 NFL Draft doesn’t offer much in terms of quarterbacks, but the Browns are in a good position to address several of their other pressing needs. However, they could speed things up by trading superstar defensive end Myles Garrett in an effort to load up on assets ahead of the upcoming draft. With Garrett’s name still popping up in rumors, let’s look at a trade pitch that would see the Browns deal him to the New England Patriots.

Browns’ Myles Garrett Trade Pitch Sends Him to the Patriots

Browns receive: 2026 first-round pick (No. 31), 2027 first-round pick, 2027 second-round pick

Patriots receive: DE Myles Garrett

It may pain Browns fans, but if the team is going to trade Garrett, now is the time to do so. He is fresh off a historic 2025 campaign that saw him break the NFL’s single-season sack record, as he took down opposing quarterbacks 23 times last year. That helped Garrett earn his second Defensive Player of the Year Award.

The problem with Cleveland is that it simply isn’t good, and it remains to be seen if it will ever be a playoff contender again during Garrett’s time in town. Sure, having him on the field is nice, but if the team isn’t making postseason runs, his individual production is insignificant. Even with Garrett’s otherworldly season in the books, the Browns managed to win just five games last year.

Teams would surely be interested in Garrett, even when considering the outrageous asking price Cleveland would have for him. The Patriots are a team that could desperately use some help along their defensive line, even after signing Dre’Mont Jones in free agency. This is a massive trade package, but that’s the price that needs to be paid for a guy who just rewrote the record books the last time we saw him on the field.

The Patriots are in win-now mode after making a surprise run to the Super Bowl last season, and if there’s a move that signals this mindset, it would be a trade for Garrett. This is a massive offer for Garrett, but he’s arguably the best defensive player in the league right now. Bringing him to town would make New England even scarier than it already is, which is saying something considering how successful it was last season.

While Garrett keeps seeing his name pop up in trade rumors, the Browns don’t seem intent on trading him. The right offer could change that, and in theory, trading Garrett makes more sense than holding onto him, given the state of the rest of the roster. Loading up on picks in the 2027 NFL Draft, which is expected to feature a better class than this year’s group, makes this package even more enticing, but ultimately, it seems like Garrett is going to stay put for the time being.
