Ongoing New Orleans Saints rumors posit that defensive lineman could end up signing with an NFC rival, a notable insider believes.

The newest round of New Orleans Saints rumors posits a potentially startling move this offseason.

The club could be losing one of its most crucial pieces on the defensive side of the ball. Legendary defensive end Cam Jordan could be on the move, possibly landing with an NFC rival.

According to insider Jason La Canfora, the eight-time Pro Bowler could be headed to the Green Bay Packers. As La Canfora noted, the Pack could use an upgrade on its defensive line. And Jordan could be just what they are looking for.

“At age 37, this might be it. Green Bay badly needs fortification to its line, and with Micah Parsons injured for the first half of the season, having Jordan to move around inside and outside would be huge.”

La Canfora, who spoke with Casino Guru in an exclusive interview, expounded on these latest Saints rumors. discussed how Jordan would be a solid fit in Green Bay. At 9-7-1 this season, the Packers squeaked into the playoffs. But they’ll need more to get over the hump in the NFC.

But as much as Jordan is a clear fit for the Pack, the Saints legend might not leave New Orleans so easily.

“He is incredibly durable and if they kept him on a pitch count he is precisely the type of leader you would want for a postseason run. He’s opined about preferring to play for a warm-weather team … but money talks.”

It remains unclear whether these Saints rumors could come to fruition. Jordan has been a marine in New Orleans. So, unless the desire to win at 37 creeps up on the former first-round pick, he’ll likely stay put.

Saints Rumors May Just Be That

Jordan is currently a free agent. He’s coming off a one-year deal worth a little over $6 million. As La Canfora noted, Saints rumors could point towards Jordan taking a bigger payday to leave New Orleans.

But when thinking about the Hall of Fame career he has built in New Orleans, it’s tough to see Jordan bailing at this point in his career. If anything, the betting odds are that he stays put.

Then again, that won’t be a certainty until veteran defensive lineman inks another contract with the Saints.

Could Jordan Just Retire?

Another possibility among Saints rumors is that Jordan could just retire. After 15 seasons in which he hasn’t missed many games, Jordan may opt to call it quits.

It wouldn’t be surprising if he did. However, he hasn’t slowed down even in his age-36 season. He had a team-high 10.5 sacks this season to go with 47 combined tackles. His 32 solo tackles and 15 QB hits look good all around.

That’s why the likeliest path is for the future Hall of Famer to stay in New Orleans. But as Saints rumors suggest, there might be enough money from a desperate team like the Packers, and the possibility of a Super Bowl ring, to change Jordan’s mind.
