Gracie recently announced on April 4, 2026 that she got engaged to her boyfriend Derek Green. The couple shared the news with a joint Instagram post. It contained a lot of romantic photos with an elaborate proposal held in a scenic desert setting.

An outdoor altar was prepared, fully decorated with white flowers and curtains, and a walkway was installed. The caption of the post referenced a Bible verse, “It was always you 💍❤️♾️ “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.” Romans 8:28”. Both their close friends and family attended the event. Gracie wore a white floor-length dress, while Green was dressed in a light gray suit.
One of the Instagram photos shows him on one knee proposing to her with a ring, while other photos show them kissing and walking together. She also showed off her engagement ring, which was a large central diamond with a diamond-encrusted split shank band featuring an additional emerald green-colored stone.
Their union unites two prominent Chiefs-affiliated families. While Gracie is part of the Hunt family, Derek is the son of former NFL quarterback Trent Green. Trent played for the Chiefs from 2001 to 2006. The two families already had close ties, with the engaged couple having much history.

Green and Gracie began their relationship in March last year, and went public in May 2025. They recently celebrated their first anniversary together in March 2026. She posted a video with the caption “365 days with my best friend” to which Derek replied, “I love you”.
Both of them have much history, way back as children. She once said that the two used to play together during the Chiefs’ Christmas parties. Both of them attended Southern Methodist University, where Green played as a quarterback. They reconnected as friends in 2017, which eventually led to their relationship and engagement.
Gracie Hunt will be happy to enter a new chapter in her life, with the wedding being highly anticipated by many.
