How this former Alabama OT is reviving his NFL career

Giants' OT Evan Neal (#73) leaves the field after pregame warmups for 2022 game against Titans

People rarely want to be in a state where they constantly have to prove themselves; however, sometimes that mentality is the best way to revive a career.

He came through the high school football ranks of Florida as a five-star and chose the University of Alabama in the 2019 recruiting cycle.

Evan Neal played left guard and right tackle under Nick Saban, assisting the Crimson Tide to a College Football Playoff National Championship in 2020 and earning Consensus All-American honors.

He graduated from a Joe Moore Award-winning offensive unit to being the seventh overall pick of the 2022 NFL Draft to the New York Giants.

Neal has struggled through his first four seasons – including a switch from tackle to guard and not getting the fifth-year option of his contract exercised – causing many to feel like he is a bust.

He’s also been placed twice on injured reserve before he became a free agent in 2026.

Neal got re-signed to the Giants on March 11 to a one-year veteran-minimum salary.

The 6-foot-7, 340-pounder knows this may be his last chance to prove he belongs in the pros.

Neal is now in the best shape of his life, training with LeCharles Bentley of AMDG Sports.
