Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen and his wife Hailee Steinfeld had their first baby, and Steinfeld's parents are reacting.
Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen and his wife, actress Hailee Steinfeld, are now officially parents to a baby girl, and it’s an exciting time for the couple. The two were also guests at Seattle Seahawks quarterback Sam Darnold and his fiancée Katie Hoofnagle’s wedding on Friday, April 3, for their first public outing since having the baby.
Now, Allen has a new moniker, and it’s “girl dad.” Even though he’s used to being around sweaty guys during practice with the Buffalo Bills, he’ll have to enjoy the lighter things in life as he raises his baby girl. So far, the couple has yet to announce the baby’s name, but when they do, it will likely be in Steinfeld’s newsletter, the “Beau Society,” where she shared the news of the baby’s birth.
Now, Steinfeld’s parents and brother are commenting on the news of the new little one, and they’re sending their well wishes. Her parents are also hinting at what they want to baby to call them, instead of grandma and grandpa.
Hailee Steinfeld’s Parents and Brother Respond to Baby News with Josh Allen of the Buffalo Bills
Steinfeld announced the happy news of the new baby in the Thursday, April 2, edition of Steinfeld’s “Beau Society” newsletter. In the message, the couple thanked people for their “love and well wishes” amid the birth.
The two haven’t confirmed that the baby was born on April 2, but that’s the official day they shared the news. If she was born on April 1, they may have wanted to avoid that day, so it wouldn’t be mistaken as joke. Regardless, the baby is here.
In addition to sharing the announcement in her newsletter, Hailee and Josh also shared it on social media. In response to their post, Hailee’s mom, Cheri Steinfeld wrote, “Cha Cha officially clocked in,” with pink hearts, implying that she’ll be called “Cha Cha” as her grandparent nickname.
Her father, Peter Steinfeld, also chimed in, stating, “Pop Pop officially clocked in.” Hailee uncle added, “Uncle Griffin officially clocked in.” The Buffalo Bills also said “congrats” to the couple on Instagram.

Allen and Steinfeld’s baby girl is being called the “Princess of “Buffalo” by people online, and that’s really an apt name for her. “Buffalo’s princess,” one follower commented on Steinfeld’s Substack. “Congrats on the arrival of the Princess of Buffalo,” another stated.
Followers are also calling Allen a “girl dad” on social media, which is another moniker that fits. “Girl dad Josh Allen. New super powers unlocked, put the league on notice,” one follower said when the news surfaced. “Josh Allen is a girl dad,” another stated.
While Allen and Steinfeld kept the baby’s due date private, it was easy to tell she was coming soon, because Steinfeld skipping the Academy Awards this year, even with her movie, “Sinners,” getting nominated. Her “Sinners” co-star Michael B. Jordan gave the actress a shout-out when he accepted his award for Best Actor, stating that she wasn’t there because she was “getting ready to have a baby right now.”
