What the Pittsburgh Steelers will do at quarterback in 2026 remains a mystery, and we are at the beginning of April.
With Aaron Rodgers still unsure what he will do, we have heard reports that the Steelers will know by the NFL Draft whether he will return.
But that is time wasted for the franchise if he doesn't return, because they could have gotten a new quarterback in the building in the meantime.
For CBS Sports' Garrett Podell, he thinks Rodgers' best landing spot in 2026 is with the Steelers.
"A return to the Pittsburgh Steelers to reunite with Mike McCarthy makes plenty of sense, especially after trading for another weapon in wide receiver Michael Pittman Jr.,” Podell wrote. “Pittman complements DK Metcalf perfectly since his areas of expertise are in the short, intermediate areas as well as over the middle, thanks to his polished route-running technique.
“Metcalf is a downfield deep threat as well as a liability to break loose on a screen pass. Rodgers now has what he was missing last season at the No. 2 receiver spot.”

Is a Rodgers return good for Pittsburgh?
Well, if he does, it will give the Steelers the best chance at making the playoffs, but most know Pittsburgh isn't a genuine Super Bowl contender in 2026.
Still, he would give the franchise the best shot at success in the short-term.
But is another 9-8 season and being a mid-table team the right avenue to go down? Or should the franchise look to go younger and take their lumps with someone like Will Howard?
How the franchise approaches Mike McCarthy's first season will be interesting, as they already have a good No. 2 receiver in Michael Pittman Jr. for Rodgers if he returns.
Either way, the Steelers appear content to wait for Rodgers to make a decision.
Whether that is good or not is up for debate.
