Manchester United club legend Ryan Giggs has been impressed with the club’s new star goalkeeper Senne Lammens.
Senne Lammens has proved to be a bargain since he signed for Manchester United from Royal Antwerp on transfer deadline day.
Lammens is the undisputed number one, seizing his chance since he kept a clean sheet on his debut for United in October.
Club legend Ryan Giggs says Lammens’ ability to come out and claim crosses is a key part of his success, praising his mentality.

How much is Senne Lammens worth now?
Man Utd got a real bargain… how much of a bargain?
Giggs on Lammens
United’s all-time record appearance holder Ryan Giggs spoke to the Webby and O’Neill podcast about a range of topics, including Michael Carrick’s future.
Giggs was particularly positive about Senne Lammens’ impact on the Manchester United team.
The Welshman explained that Lammens is an asset rather than a distraction, exactly what a top goalkeeper should be.

He said: “Usually the best goalkeepers, you don’t talk about them. You only talk about them when they make mistakes. They just get on with their job, they make the saves that they need to.
“He’ll come and claim crosses, he’ll claim corners, and that is massive for a team that a goalkeeper can do that. It looks like he’s been there years.”
Giggs praised United’s recruitment team for not just chasing a big name, and finding the best player.
“When we knew Onana was going, there was the clamour for Donnarumma, ‘we’ve got to get a top goalkeeper’, you have to give credit to the recruitment, they’ve seen this guy, he has been a bargain and not many people knew too much about him.
“It’s a massive role at a massive club. He’s got the right mentality and the right technique for a goalkeeper.
“The biggest compliment I can give him, we don’t talk about him.”

Lammens also making international impact
Over the international break, Senne Lammens showed his importance at international level with Belgium.
The youngster stepped in for the injured Thibaut Courtois for Belgium’s friendly win with the USA. While veteran Matz Sels stepped in for the next game, Lammens is the likely second choice behind Courtois.
2026 is likely Courtois’ final World Cup, and Lammens is a ready-made successor.
The other Red Devils have found their goalkeeping solution for many years ahead, just like Manchester United.
