Leeds United’s FA Cup run will surely be the highlight of their season so far. The Whites have spent most of their campaign battling relegation.

So it was a very impressive feat for Daniel Farke to get his men to the semi-final. The game against West Ham was not easy, as the Hammers came down from 2-0 to force extra time. They had the ball in the back of the net in the first half of extra time, but it was ruled out eventually.

Micah Richards and Gary Lineker made their feelings quite clear when discussing the Leeds result, they both thought West Ham should have won. But the Whites pulled a huge result out of the bag. Richards and Alan Shearer are now saying that Leeds will not stand a chance when they come up against Chelsea in the semi-final.

“We’ve seen the draw, Leeds vs Chelsea and Man City vs Southampton, I suppose they’ll be obvious favourites in that one, Man City in particular… Leeds against Chelsea might be closer.” Lineker said on the Rest is Football podcast.

“City vs Chelsea final?” Shearer asks, then Richards responds, “City vs Chelsea final.”

Gary Lineker then added: “It could be, but Chelsea have not beaten Leeds this season, they’ve lost one and drawn one in the league, so I think that might be a tight one, Chelsea have to be favourites.”

The Whites have been doubted before

This is not the first time Leeds United have been doubted; they have beaten the odds so many times this season. And they are unbeaten against Chelsea, taking four points off the Blues in the Premier League this season. If Daniel Farke gets his tactics and team selection right, there is every chance the Whites can pull off an upset in the semi-final. But there could be a problem, as the date for the game is very close to a crucial Premier League clash near the end of the season. Farke will have a tough choice picking a side that can guarantee him a result.
