Rasmus Hojlund is enjoying a career renaissance at Napoli, and teammate Kevin de Bruyne has made a prediction about his career after ‘difficult time’ at Man Utd.
For most Man Utd fans, Rasmus Hojlund’s good season at Napoli doesn’t exactly come as a big surprise.
The talent was always there, but Hojlund had lost all his confidence at Old Trafford, so the problem was as much about mentality as it was about talent.
He has been joined in Napoli by his former rival, De Bruyne, who has made a prediction about his future.

Kevin de Bruyne’s Rasmus Hojlund prediction
It’s a matter of when, and not if, Rasmus Hojlund becomes a Napoli player permanently, and United won’t be regretting that move.
He was given plenty of chances at United, but he failed to turn up, so if he tears it up in Italy, it won’t be an indicator of “what could’ve been”.
Sometimes, a club and a player just aren’t the right fit, and it’s not a judgement on the ability of either party, which is what De Bruyne says.

Speaking to Italian outlet Gazzetta dello Sport, De Bruyne said, “He can become a top player, he has great qualities, he had a difficult time in Manchester, but now he’s doing very well here. He’s still young; he has a lot of time ahead of him.”
De Bruyne is correct on all counts in the statement above, but it still doesn’t mean United made a mistake letting him go.
Could he have done better had he not played under Erik ten Hag and Ruben Amorim? Maybe.
Were his intangibles, like his mentality and ability to cope with pressure, good enough to play for Man Utd? Absolutely not.
United will wish him the best for his career ahead, but unlike Scott McTominay, who was misprofiled at Old Trafford, there will be no regret.
