The Man Utd hopeful switched clubs in the January transfer window but things did not go to plan.
The 19-year-old shone at Sheffield Wednesday in the first half of the Championship campaign, before it was decided he should join Norwich on loan for the second half of the season. Amass made his debut from the bench as Norwich defeated league leaders Coventry City, before he suffered a 'serious' hamstring injury in training just days after the match.
Amass has subsequently been sidelined ever since and returned to United to continue his rehabilitation process. The teenage left-back is not expected to feature for Norwich again this season, much to the frustration of Clement, who is unhappy with how United have handled his injury recovery.

Speaking ahead of Norwich's massive clash with Millwall on Easter Monday, Philippe Clement confirmed Harry Amass had returned to Manchester United and admitted he did not expect him to play for the club again.
“We wanted it differently, but they are the owners of the player, and they decided for him not to come here for his rehab and not to have Harry here in these weeks,” said Clement. “We wish it was a different situation. I don't want to go into what Harry wanted, because that's for him to say.
"They are the owners of the player, and they decided to keep him there until the end of the season. But in this very short time, for sure, he made (a good impression) but we will see in the end of the season what we're going do in that position.
"So we are, of course, in the club, busy with it but I want to be focused on Ben and Lucien and to get them fit and at their best level.”
